What do anti-cheat systems watch?

Vanguard in Valorant, Easy Anti-Cheat in Fortnite and Apex, BattlEye in PUBG and Rainbow Six, and Ricochet in Call of Duty all protect the game from:

• Apps that inject into the game, or read or write its memory.
• Edits to the game's files or protected settings.
• Old drivers with known vulnerabilities, which cheaters use to reach the system.
• Macros and aim assistance of any kind.

What Windows tuning never touches

Power plans, Game Mode, startup apps, the graphics driver and temp-file cleanup all work entirely outside the game, and anti-cheat systems don't treat them as a threat.

What major games require today

More and more games refuse to run without certain security features, so no tweak should turn them off:

• Valorant: TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot on Windows 11, or you'll see VAN 9003.
• Call of Duty and Battlefield 6: TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot.
• FACEIT: TPM and Secure Boot, a gradual memory-isolation (VBS) requirement, and Windows 11.

Before you run any tweak

   Ask: does it get inside the game?

   Stay away from anything promising “in-game” boosts or that has to run hooked to the game.

   Ask: does it want protection turned off?

   Being asked to disable Defender or Secure Boot is a clear red flag.

3. 03

   Ask: can it be undone?

   A safe tweak tells you what it changed and lets you revert it any time.
