What is sent when you set up the app

On the first launch after installing, the app sends a single signal that it was installed. It includes the version number and no number that identifies your PC or account. Because it carries nothing about you, it is sent before any agreement.

When you finish setup we receive: your name, your email address, a device ID (a code derived from your PC's hardware so your plan can be tied to it), the app version and its language.

We use these to create your account, issue and verify your plan, and contact you about your account or a problem you reported.

Only if you tick “Stay in touch” do we keep your agreement to update emails, and how you heard about us if you told us. Every email lets you stop them.

What stays on your PC

Settings, the change history and backups, score history, and temperature and performance readings are stored on your PC and never uploaded to us.

The app does not read your personal files, browsing history or passwords, and it shows no ads.

Updates and plans

The app checks for updates, and for cancelled plans, by downloading files from dl.xtweaks.net. Like any web server, it sees your IP address when you download; we do not link it to your account.

An activation code carries your device ID and plan, and it is checked on your own PC.

Crash reports and app health

To keep the app stable, it sends a short technical report when something crashes unexpectedly or the app freezes: when and where in the app it happened, the error text and its technical details, the app version and build type, and your Windows version. For a freeze it also includes how many seconds it lasted, which of the app's own tasks were running and how long they took, the app's own memory and CPU use, free memory on the PC, CPU temperature, whether the PC was on battery or charger, the state of the app window, and how long the app had been running. No names of other programs on your PC are sent.

Before a report is sent, your Windows user name, PC name, file paths and any email address are removed from it.

Once a day the app also sends its version with a random install number created when you install it, and the same number is attached to crash reports, so we can count how many PCs run each version and how many run without crashes. This number is not derived from your hardware and is never sent with your account or plan; we store only a one-way fingerprint of it, not the number itself.

While the app is running it also sends a signal every 10 minutes that it's on, with the same random install number, so we know how many PCs are connected right now. We keep only the latest time and version, with no record of when you use your PC.

If you agreed to diagnostics, the app also sends daily counts of feature use only (such as how many times “Optimize” was pressed), with no content, file names or account data.

This is part of agreeing to the terms and this policy, when you sign up or when you accept this version of it. In the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland it only runs if you choose it yourself with a separate tick box, and no install number is created before that. If you haven't chosen it and the app crashes, it asks you next time whether to send that one report, without an install number. You can turn it off at any time in the app's settings under “Crash reports and app health”.

Rating the app

If you rate the app from inside it, we receive the stars, anything you wrote yourself, the app version and your plan; your PC is kept only as a one-way fingerprint.

With the rating, the app sends what helps us understand it: the PC's score (first, now, and before and after the last Optimize), how many programs were running and start with Windows, the names of the three heaviest programs in memory, the mode in use, free memory, and the PC's specs (maker, model, processor, graphics card, RAM). No file names and no account data, and none of it is sent unless you send a rating.

When you press the Trustpilot button we record only that you pressed it, so we don't send you the review invitation by email. Anything you post on Trustpilot is covered by their policy.

Support

When you message us on WhatsApp or by email, we receive what you send. The “system report” is copied only if you press it yourself, and it contains your PC's specifications and Windows version — not your name, email or plan code.

The website

xtweaks.net may use analytics and ad-measurement tools (such as Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and the Meta and TikTok pixels) that set cookies to understand how the site is used. None of them run inside the app.

The download button on the site passes through our counter before the download starts, so we know how many downloads there are.

If a technical error happens on a page of the site, a short report (the page and the error text) is sent so we can fix it, with nothing about you.

Where data is kept, and who sees it

Account data is kept, encrypted, with a trusted data provider. Payments go through a secure payment provider; we never see or store your card number.

We do not sell your data or share it for marketing.

How long we keep it, and your rights

We keep your account data for as long as you have an account or a plan, and delete it when you ask.

You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or withdraw consent to emails by writing to contact@xtweaks.net.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we raise its version and update its date, and the app shows you a summary of what changed and asks you to agree to the new version. You can turn crash reports and app health off at any time in the app's settings.

Version 7 (1 November 2026): A rating from inside the app now includes details about the PC, to help us understand it

Version 6 (9 October 2026): If you agreed to diagnostics, the app sends daily counts of feature use only (such as how many times “Optimize” was pressed), with no content, file names or account data.

Version 5 (2 October 2026): We added “Rating the app”: what reaches us when you rate from inside the app, and that we record only a press of the Trustpilot button.

Version 4 (2 October 2026): While running, the app sends an "I'm on" signal every 10 minutes with the same random install number, only if you agreed to crash reports. We keep only the latest time. Technical errors on the site's pages are sent in a short report so we can fix them, with nothing about you.

In Europe and the UK it only runs if you choose it.
