Call of Duty & Warzone Tweaks: More FPS, Less Stutter
In Call of Duty and Warzone, the biggest gains come from three things: letting the game prepare its shaders before your first match, stopping texture downloads while you play, and tuning the heavy settings. Here are the steps in order, all safe with Ricochet.

Before any setting
- 01
Let shader optimization finish
After a game or driver update, the game prepares its shaders in the background. Start matches after it finishes, or your first match will stutter a lot.
- 02
Turn off On-Demand Texture Streaming
It downloads high-quality textures while you play, using your connection and disk and causing stutter. Turn it off.

Graphics settings
- 03
Exclusive fullscreen
Lower latency than windowed or borderless.

- 04
NVIDIA Reflex: On + Boost
Cuts the delay between your click and seeing it on screen.
- 05
Render resolution 100
Keep render resolution at 100, and if you need more FPS use DLSS, FSR or XeSS in Quality mode instead of lowering it.
- 06
The heaviest on Low or Off
Shadow quality, screen-space shadows, ambient occlusion, volumetric quality and particles: Low or Off. Along with motion blur, depth of field and film grain.
- 07
VRAM Scale Target 80–90%
Higher than that causes stutter when video memory fills up.
- 08
Frame-rate limit
A custom limit at your refresh rate or a little above, so FPS holds steady and the PC doesn't heat up for nothing.
Prepare Windows
- 09
Game Mode and power mode
Turn on Game Mode and choose Best performance as your power mode.

- 10
Update your graphics driver
NVIDIA and AMD drivers often ship improvements for each new Call of Duty season.
- 11
SSD and free space
The game is huge. Install it on an SSD and leave enough free space, because a full drive slows loading and adds stutter.
- 12
At least 16 GB of RAM
Warzone is heavy on memory, and 8 GB means stutter with anything else open.
Safe with Ricochet
Ricochet is Call of Duty's anti-cheat and works at the system level. Every step here is an official game or Windows setting. Avoid any app that injects into the game or modifies its files, and any macro or aim tool.

Questions gamers ask
Usually because shader preparation hasn't finished after a game or driver update. Wait for shader optimization to complete in the main menu, then play.
